On Club is the latest, biggest and most up to date addition to Prague gay life. Situated on Vinohradska Street it is right in the centre of all the important gay clubs in the city. It is well reachable by public transportation or by foot from the city centre. Due to its size - over 3 floors - it is patronized by a lively and varied crowd. From young guys to older men from all walks of life. During the day it's a nice place to have a coffee and chat with friends and at night it is a cool place to start or end your night out. One big advantage of the On Café are the large windows which open up to the main Vinohrady thoroughfare. So, if no one inside catches your fancy, at least you'll be in a good position to watch the eye candy pass-by outside! The lower part of the club has become linked to the former Gayzeer night club so it now boasts a big dance floor and bar. Traditionally the busiest times are in the evenings and on the weekend when groups migrate between On Café / Club and Termix or one of the other clubs nearby. On Club is now under new management and held a Grand Re-opening on 16th September 2011. For more info: http://www.onclub.cz or www.facebook.com/ONClubPrague |
Press release:
Prague's largest gay club to undergo biggest renovations in 15 years. The nightclub currently known as Club Valentino will close down in parts, undergo major renovations and improvements, and reopen under a new name. Prague, July 4th, 2011: After 15 years of gay clubbing in Radiopalác on Vinohradská, Prague 2, Czech Republic, the club currently known as Valentino will close down this summer floor by floor for major renovations following its acquisition by a team of new entrepreneurs. This location, well-known to the gay community used to be home in 1996, of the famous Gejzeer replaced in 2005 as the much larger Club Valentino. "The space really deserved an upgrade after all those years", says Daniel Goris of the new management team. "We are looking forward to bringing to Prague nightlife what it deserves: a modern European level gay night club." The venue will offer the world's best sound system "Funktion One" and state-of-the-art LED lighting. Several areas will be added to properly serve Prague's wide ranged gay and modern thinking audience. The design will be overseen by Prague-based architect studio FREE DESIGN, among others known for realization of many clubs in Prague and some other cities. Renovations have already started behind the screens, with preparations of new bathrooms and air-conditioning improvements. The part of the work visible to the public will take place in phases, starting with the middle 'disco' floor, which closes on July 4th. Café and club floor down will stay open. This is followed by the café two weeks later on July 18th, which leaves the club floor open to the public. Reopening events for both the Café and the Disco will take place in the first weekend of August 2011. While work on these floors is ongoing, the downstairs Club floor (known as Gejzeer) will be opened 7 days a week from 9 pm, serving pop and disco music during the week, and electro / house entertainment in weekends. The modernization of the Club floor will start after reopening of the café and disco floor and finish with a Grand Reopening event in the second weekend of September. "It is a big challenge to get everything done in such a short time", says Daniel Goris. "But with the team we have we are confident we can make it on time. In a few weeks we will present our new name and logo, and we'll reveal some more of the plans we have after reopening. We can't wait sharing more with you!" See on Top of page |

Very friendly and relaxed modern café bar with a strong commitment to the gay community and social responsibility. A younger, friendly crowed interested in more than a new trendy T-shirt :-) Nothing is a problem, everybody is welcome. Every day fresh home-made meals, free Wi-Fi and a PC for your use. Offering a community meeting place, organizing small culture events. On its notice board you can find a lot of information about gay community life in Prague. We like it...A LOT! Where else can you sit and drink a bottle of Queer Moravian wine?

Klub 21 is one of the few gay bars which has been in business for a number of years. Also located on Vinohrady in cellar space, it's a pleasant bar with a laid back clientele. The patrons are mostly men from 25 upwards who have no need to show off their latest designer acquisitions. The music is never too loud and the bartenders give you the impression you have known them for years. For more info: http://www.klub21.cz Top of page |

Café Erra is one of the few gay friendly or gay cafés located in the Old Town of Prague. It is a small café, which is frequented by a straight crowd during the day but also has a big gay clientele due to its gay owners. One of the advantages of Erra is that it has a kitchen, so if you want to have a bite by yourself or with friends it is a good place to go while in the Old Town. The café has a section upstairs and a lower part with a fireplace suitable for bigger groups. Café Erra is also within a few minutes walk of the Babylonia gay sauna, the biggest in the city. Right now if you are young, gay, good looking and want to show off your latest designer t-shirt this is the place to go! Termix with it's whacky Czech name is one of the hottest gay clubs in Prague. Located in the center of 'gay Vinohrady' it has become the weekend hangout of the trendiest boys in the city. In fact there are so many of them that you may have to queue outside just to get in. The bar downstairs is equally as crowded and the small dance floor is usually jammed with Czech gym bunnies. Apart from that Termix also has a quieter lounge area and corridors where talking to friends is easier. If you have coats or bags with you, you will be expected to use the 'compulsory' cloakroom. And on Sunday's they will expect you to leave a lot more... it's the underwear party night! For more info: http://club-termix.cz Top of page |

Babylonia is the biggest gay sauna in the city situated in the Old Town centre, neighbouring a Gothic church (which tells you much about a tolerance of Praguer's towards gays!) In it's warm and friendly interior you can find a Swedish sauna, a dark steam room, big Jacuzzi, rest-room, fitness, showers and a bar with a big plasma screen. In the lower part of the sauna you will find numerous cabins and a second rest-room where you can relax while watching porn. Babylonia is quite popular during the whole week and frequently visited by both young and older guys. Normally you can meet businessmen just using their afternoon break for a hook-up and tourists leaving the charming Old Town to relax for a while and have some fun. Opening hours are from 2pm to 3am and the entrance cost is 200 Czech Krones up to 4pm then 300CZK for combined sauna and fitness. Under 23's 200CZK with photo ID. Alcatraz is a typical leather club, where butch guys go to have sex in a dungeon style cellar with BDSM like decoration. You can have a drink at the bar while watching some action on a big plasma screen or you can have some real life action yourself in one of the 2 darkrooms. Alcatraz also boasts a special room designed for wet games and numerous cabins, some of which offer the possibility of using different SM toys. The place is most crowded on Friday and Saturday evenings around midnight. You will find the Alcatraz sex club in the cellar of one apartment building in Prague's `Ziskov` quarter not too far from the gay area of Vinohrady. As a guide look for the Alcatraz Pub, which you find on the ground floor of the same building. For more info: http://www.alcatraz.cz/ |
