Today the Czech Republic has one of the highest rates of beer consumption in the world per capita! The tradition of beer production in the Czech Republic goes back to the Middle Ages. Much of the best Czech beer is produced in Western Bohemia and that is why the city of Plzeň is referred to as the capital 'City of Beer'. This tour therefore takes you on an excursion into the famous Pilsner brewery and shows you how beer is not only made but how it is correctly stored and consumed. The tour of course includes a beer! Historical pearl - Český Krumlov
Come with us and visit the ancient city of Český Krumlov, which, in its beauty, rivals Prague. This quaint city is situated in Southern Bohemia and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Situated on the Vltava River, the town is dominated by the 13th century Castle, which has both Renaissance and Baroque elements and also offers a splendid view of the town below. The Castle itself has some of the best preserved interiors in the Czech Republic and boasts a beautiful garden with a revolving theatre. Inside the Castle are the famous lavishly painted interiors and period furnishings. Below the Castle is the picturesque town of Český Krumlov with its winding streets, colourful Baroque and Renaissance houses giving the town a fairy tale like atmosphere. There is also the important Egon Shiele museum which is named after one of the most famous residents of this quaint little town. The museum houses an exhibition of both the painters' works and those of contemporary artists. Plus there are many cafés and restaurants to stop and relax in while visiting this picture perfect Bohemian town. By prior arrangement and at additional cost, it is possible to arrange canoeing or rafting on the Vltava river which meanders around the city of Český Krumlov.
